ENT consultant surgeon, Laryngology specialist

Dr. Kate Heathcote is a renowned ENT physician with a passion for patient care and innovation. With a strong background in research, she stays at the forefront of medical advancements to provide the best treatment options for her patients. Dr. Heathcote has been recognised with prestigious awards for her contributions to the field of otolaryngology. Her dedication to excellence and compassionate approach make her a trusted expert in diagnosing and treating ear, nose, and throat conditions.

Kate is on the British Laryngology council where she pioneers life changing treatments for conditions of voice and swallow.

Training

Having completed her ENT training in the Wessex region she pursued a fellowship in laryngology, otology and lateral skull base surgery in Rouen, France. A further fellowship in Laryngology at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital in London gave her the experience to establish The Centre for Airway, Voice and Swallow at Poole Hospital in 2012.

Research and Awards

Kate presents and demonstrates on the international circuit with laryngology assosiations from all over the world.

Laryngology specialty

Since 2013, Kate has been a consultant laryngologist at the Poole Hospital Foundation Trust on the South Coast of England; as a Fellow to Professor Jean-Paul Marie in Rouen, France, she learnt techniques of laryngeal reinnervation which she has continued to develop, research and introduce into the UK.

A further laryngology fellowship at the RNTNE focused on airway procedures with Guri Sandhu and Phonosurgery with John Rubin. She has a comprehensive NHS laryngology service in Poole, offering a laryngology treatment clinic and voice clinic. She is working at disseminating good practice and educational content via the BLA.

Mrs Heathcote trained in the Wessex region and then undertook a six month laryngology fellowship in Rouen, France where she learnt pioneering techniques in laryngeal reinnervation. This was followed by a further six month fellowship at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear (RNTNE) Hospital in London .

She is on the council of the British Laryngological Association and is passionate about improving the management of voice, airway and swallowing disorders in the UK.

She is currently undertaking laryngological research in collaboration with the RNTNE and presents and teaches on the International circuit.
